Week 3 Update, the Christmas Miracle (2.6 lbs lost)...

355.4 lbs
13 down, 87 to go
11 months left
$10 per lb pledged
$130 raised

Christmas down and New Year's to go. My goal is to weigh in next Friday and be down a total of 15 pounds so if I can lose another 2 or 3 pounds this week I will consider the holidays a success.

The truth is it is a miracle I lost any weight this last week. I'm still not exercising at all and my eating was not very good either. I was fully expecting a small gain this week, but apparently all it takes for me to lose weight is to pay attention. Again I think these two weeks will be the toughest of the year so I will be thrilled just to make it through them.

I wish I could say I'm having the same success on the money raising side of things, but this week was silent with no more pledges. I'm still sitting at $10 a pound and I know there is a lot of time for new people to sign up, but the thing that could most quickly derail my efforts is if I lose my motivation. For that reason I would ask you to seriously consider a pledge right now. You can pay it monthly, quarterly, or next December 7th (all based on my actual weight loss, not projected). For instance, one of my donors has signed up to do monthly payments, so next week if I have lost 18 pounds she will write a check for $18 to the station. I still need 90 more people to sign up to donate and I hope you will be one of them. If you would be willing to pledge please click here now.

See you next week!

Week 2 Update, Pizza and Cookies (6.1 lbs lost)...

358.0 lbs
10 down, 90 to go
1 Year left
$10 per lb pledged
$100 raised

I was concerned about this week, I really was. I hit a Christmas party last Friday and had a few cookies, and we ordered pizza twice for dinner. Yet here I stand 6 more pounds lighter than last Friday, just by portion control and set eating times. It's these next two weeks that will be the true test though. Holidays and food go hand in hand and I'm going to have to be the grinch that breaks up that happy couple. If I can be down 5 more pounds in the next two weeks we shall consider it a Christmas miracle.

As far as the donation side, I had $5 more a pound pledged this week bringing the total up to $10 per pound that I lose this next year. This really is the key for me, the more people I can have on board the more encouraged I will be to lose the weight. If you would be willing to pledge please click here now and let me know.

Until next week, Merry Christmas, and keep those Santa cookies away from me.

Week 1 Update, Eat Less More (4.3 lbs lost)....

364.1 lbs

$5 per lb pledged
$20 raised

One week down, 51 more to go, and you know what? I'll take 4 pounds. Especially knowing that I really only changed the way I eat. I'm looking at this as a long term process and in changing my bad habits one at a time. These first few months I'll be trying to build the habit of eating less more often, and transitioning to eating the "right" foods. In fact, I think I've had more lettuce this week then in the last 5 years of my life combined.

Here's what I'm currently doing:

7-8AM - Well Portioned breakfast.
10AM - Fruit
Noon - Lite Lunch
3PM - Fruit
5-6PM - Normal Dinner

Well, when I say normal I mean normal for a normal person. Not how I used to stuff my face as the dinner bell rung. The point is, It's really only a slight change in process, yet here I am 4 pounds lighter after a week. I know by Spring I will need to start building in some exorcise, but for now I'm focusing on my eating habits.

On the pledge side I've had 5 people already step up to support me and that's huge. I know it doesn't sound like much, but thanks to Brian, Shawn, Sherry, Autumn, and Rick I'm well on my way to finding those 100 people to make this goal a reality. Really if only 2 people a week will pledge, then by next December the goal will be met. If you want to be one of those two for this next week, then click here. It only takes a couple seconds to answer a couple questions and you don't have to pay til next December. It would be a huge encouragement to me.

I can't thank you enough for your support and click back next week to see if I can keep it going!

And so it begins, my starting weight is (gulp)...

368.4 lbs
0 down, 100 to go

$0 raised

Welcome to loseforthefuse.com! Thanks for dropping by and considering supporting my goal. Every week I will check in with updated totals on how much weight I've lost and how many people have come along side to encourage me. It's a way to keep me accountable to losing the weight and also support a station that I love and want to see succeed.

A few months ago I was feeling pretty bummed that I couldn't do more to financially support 101.7 The Fuse. I love what we are doing here and believe it is something that is needed in this community and beyond. Then a thought hit me, I may not have a lot of money to give but I have about 100 pounds I could donate, and thus loseforthefuse.com was born.

The bottom line to all of this is that I need you as friends, family, or just Fuse fans to sign up with the link on the upper right and pledge however much per pound you think is appropriate. My goal is to eventually have $100 per lb. pledged, but it all starts with your dollar a pound or more. If you believe in the station or just want to see me drop some of my insulation I could use your help.

Thanks again for dropping by and be sure and come by next Friday for the first update!
