OK. Well, there ya' go. Back to where I was 2 weeks ago. Up 6 Down 6. And I have no clue why. I guess the lesson, as always, is to just keep doing the right things and let the numbers fall where they may. I didn't do anything especially crazy this week, just tried to get back into the swing of working out every morning and eating on a schedule. I did run a 10K on Tuesday (my first) but 10K is actually less than a mile more than what I usually run. And any extra calories I burned then may have been negated by the amazing Peanut Butter shake my wife made me Wednesday night. Whatever the case, here I sit, 17 pounds away from losing 100 with 14 weeks left to do it. The last 3 weeks have been a wash, but I have a feeling the next 3 are going to be pretty amazing. I don't plan on losing 6 in a week again, but I bet I'm within 10 pounds by the time September comes to a close.
One man's journey from fat to not so fat and his desperate attempt to stay there.

This is what is know as going backwards, a setback, looking more like the horse than the cart, moving in the wrong direction, looking at a gift horse while stuffing your mouth, or maybe just reaping the consequences of vacation eating. Whatever the case, this is really the first big setback in this whole process and being 8 months in, I'm not overly concerned. I knew vacation would take it's tole, I just didn't realize it would take a week to show up. As long as I get back on the horse (what's the deal with all the equine cliches today?) I should be fine. Thanks again for your encouragement and lets hope next week starts heading back in the right direction again!

Today and next Friday will be quickee posts as we are soaking in the sun in places unknown. I wont have my official scale but I will have my Wii Fit with me which should give a pretty good estimate. I also expect to gain a bit while on vacation, tends to go with the territory. I did manage to lose a pound this week so the numbers keep going in the right direction at least!
Catch you in a week.

There's an old phrase about gift horses and mouths. I think I'll abide by it and not spend too much time trying to figure out how I lost another 3 pounds this week, but rather just enjoy what appears to be a weight loss fiesta of incredible proportions. I am now within 18 pounds of my goal with 18 weeks remaining. I think it's safe to say that if I remain dedicated I should be able to get there earlier than expected. I've been getting a lot of questions about what I am going to do after that and how much I plan on losing total. The answer is pretty simple. There is no after, and wherever I level off is fine with me. That's been my whole philosophy with this thing is that I'm doing it in a way that I can live with it for the rest of my life. I will continue to run and work out, I will continue to eat smaller portions every three hours. In fact, I can't imagine it any differently. My guess is that I will level off around the 250 mark or so, which should be around 15% body fat. Where I will be come December 7th though is anybody's guess (well unless you want to do the math, in which case I've averaged 2.41 pounds a week, so another 18 weeks will put me 43.41 more pounds down, leaving me at 244 on December 7th, but really who needs math.) The point is, things are going amazing and I appreciate each and every one of you who check in on this blog and encourage with your words and pledges. Feel free to drop me a note in the comments and I'll see you next Friday!
